Jean Wells is an American soul singer born on August 1, 1942, in West Palm Beach, Florida, USA. She began her music career by cutting her first two records for the local Philadelphia label Quaker Town in 1964. After a brief period with ABC Records, which resulted in a single 45, she moved to Calla Records, owned by Morris Levy, in 1966 or 1967. During her time with Calla, she released the majority of her work, including eight 45s and one LP titled "Here Comes Jean Wells." Despite her prolific output over the next two years, her music had limited availability.
