Jean-Yves Labat is a French musician born on March 20, 1947, in Clermont-Ferrand, central France. He is skilled in playing the flute, saxophone, keyboards, and synthesizers, and has also made his mark as an author, producer, and recording and mastering engineer. Labat is perhaps best known as a member of Todd Rundgren's Utopia and is also recognized by the name M(ister) Frog, under which he released a lone album in 1973 on Bearsville. Alongside Anne Dieumegard, he serves as the label boss. Labat published his first book, titled "Rock Me Amin (De Woodstock Aux Prisons Ougandaises - Bad Trip Pour Un Hit)," on January 17, 2024, with the EAN/ISBN 9782080296047. He has been residing in Saint-Avit de Tardes, France, since 1996.
