Jeanne Shy is a rhythm 'n' blues, soul, and disco singer from Chicago, Illinois, born on September 19, 1950. The oldest of six children, she began her musical journey as a member of a young trio that performed in churches throughout the Chicago area. At the age of 12, she signed with Chess Records, where her song "Spring Fever," recorded by Tim & Jean, became a local hit. After graduating high school in 1970, she signed with Brunswick Records. Throughout her career, she regularly played and toured in Europe. Later, she moved to Los Angeles with her husband and subsequently relocated to Frankfurt, Germany, after 1978. Her biggest hit, "Night Dancer," was released in 1979.
