Jeannie Piersol is a distinctive singer known for her unique blend of rock, soul, and Indian flavors, emerging from the mid-1960s San Francisco scene. Hailing from Marin County, she was part of the same community that produced notable bands like Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead, and Big Brother. Piersol was close friends with Grace Slick and her brother-in-law Darby Slick, and she performed alongside Grace in the early Bay Area group The Great! Society. Afterward, she fronted her own bands, The Yellow Brick Road and Hair, both of which played at iconic venues such as The Matrix in the burgeoning San Francisco music circuit.
