Jemini the Gifted One, born Thomas H. Smith, was an American rapper from Brooklyn. He signed with Mercury Records and released his debut album, "Scars and Pain," in 1995, which included the singles "Funk Soul Sensation" and "Brooklyn Kids." Unfortunately, the album did not achieve commercial success, leading to his departure from the label. Afterward, Jemini released several singles on independent labels but was unable to produce a follow-up album. In 2003, he collaborated with producer Danger Mouse to release "Ghetto Pop Life," featuring contributions from artists such as Imani and Bootie Brown from The Pharcyde, The Alkaholiks, J-Zone, and Prince Po from Organized Konfusion. Shortly after the album's release, Jemini was arrested for narcotics activity and served an undisclosed amount of jail time, which hindered his ability to capitalize on the album's success. Jemini passed away on March 27, 2025.
