**Bio: Jermaine Jackson** Born on December 11, 1954, in Gary, Indiana, USA, Jermaine Jackson, also known as Mohammad Abdul Aziz Sharif following his conversion to Islam in the 1980s, was a member of the original Jackson 5. In 1976, after the group changed labels and were forced to rename themselves The Jacksons, Jermaine, who was married to Hazel Gordy, the daughter of the Jackson 5's Motown manager, left the group to pursue a solo career. He was replaced by Randy Jackson. Jermaine experienced some success as a solo artist and officially rejoined The Jacksons in 1984, contributing to the group's lineup as a sextet of Jackson brothers until their final split in 1990. Jermaine is also mentoring his sons, who are preparing to carry on the family's legacy.
