Jerry Irby was a country singer and songwriter born on October 20, 1917, in Houston, Texas. He passed away on December 2, 1983. Irby wrote several hit songs, including the well-known "Driving Nails In My Coffin." In 1973, he experienced a spiritual renewal and subsequently released a series of gospel albums characterized by their good-natured themes. Throughout his career, he recorded for numerous labels, including Mercury, Imperial, MGM, and 4 Star.
