Jerry McGee was an American guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, producer, and actor, born on November 17, 1937, in Eunice, Louisiana. He was the son of a fiddler and is best known as the lead guitarist of a prominent band from 1968 to 1972 and again from 1985 to 2016. Throughout his career, McGee worked as a session musician with notable artists, including Elvis Presley, the Monkees, Delaney and Bonnie, Eric Clapton, John Mayall, Kris Kristofferson, and John Fogerty, among others. He passed away on October 12, 2019, in Tokyo, Japan.
