Jerry Vale was an American singer born on July 8, 1932, in The Bronx, New York. He passed away on May 18, 2014, in Palm Desert, California. In the early 1950s, Vale was discovered singing in a New York nightclub, leading to a management contract. He later signed a recording contract and became well-known for his version of "The Star-Spangled Banner," which was recorded in 1963 and became a staple at sporting events for many years.
