Jesse Powell was an American jazz tenor saxophonist born on February 27, 1924, in Smithville, Bastrop County, Texas. He passed away on October 19, 1982, in New York City, New York. Throughout his career, he worked with various artists and recorded as a leader in 1951 and 1953.
