Jesus Jones is a band formed by Mike Edwards (vocals, writer, guitar) and Simon Matthews (drums) in the mid-1980s. They initially gigged under the name Camouflage, but after struggling for commercial success, they rebranded as Big Colour. Following a trip to Spain, they evolved into Jesus Jones with the addition of Iain "Barry D" Baker (keyboards and electronic devices) and Jerry de Abela Borg (guitar). The band signed with Food Records after persistent efforts from Gen, the drummer. However, after EMI's acquisition of Food Records, the release of their album "Already" was delayed and poorly supported, leading to the band being dropped, although Mike Edwards remained with the label. Gen eventually left due to scheduling conflicts with his other projects, and Tony Arthy replaced him as the drummer. Subsequently, the band signed with Koch Records, releasing "London," which received critical acclaim but lacked commercial success. Two singles were released from the album, primarily produced by Mike Edwards. They later released "Culture Vulture," a 4-track single that allowed fans to create their own mixes using elements from the title track available on their official website.
