Jim White (born 1962) is an Australian drummer, songwriter, and producer hailing from Melbourne, Australia. His musical career began with the band Happy Orphans from 1980 to 1981, followed by People With Chairs Up Their Noses from 1981 to 1983. He was a member of Feral Dinosaurs from 1982 to 1986 and briefly played with Brainshack in 1984. From 1985 to 1996, he was involved in various projects, including Hessian Sax from 1988 to 1989 and And The Deep South in 1989. He participated in Busload Of Faith in 1992 and worked with STM from 1992 to 1994. Since 1992, he has been active in other musical endeavors and has been a part of Charles Marshall And The Body Electric since 1993. Jim has spent part of his time in Chicago, IL, since the late 1990s, where he has engaged in session playing, collaborating with artists such as Will Oldham, Nina Nastasia, and others. He is also a member of Tren Brothers alongside guitarist Mick Turner. Notably, he should not be confused with the Americana singer/songwriter Jim White, who does not typically play drums.
