Jimmy Bee, whose real name is Jimmy Brunsen, was a talented tenor active in the 1950s. He was a member of several vocal groups during this era, including The Regals, The Rockets, The Rocketeers, The Magic Notes, and The Planets. These groups often featured the same members, with their names changing depending on the record label or even within the same label. As part of The Rockets, Jimmy collaborated with Johnny Otis and joined his touring "Johnny Otis Show." The Rockets were frequently used for backup work during Otis's Capitol sessions, and they can be heard in the background of his 1958 hit "Willie And The Hand Jive." From 1959 to 1963, Jimmy Brunsen performed with the Billy Williams Revue and recorded solo material under the name "Jimmy Bee." Later, he transitioned into record promotion for Arista Records.
