Jimmy Buffett was born on December 25, 1946, in Pascagoula, Mississippi, and passed away on September 1, 2023, in Sag Harbor, Long Island, NY. He was a singer, songwriter, actor, and author who inspired a devoted fan base known as "Parrotheads," as well as a newer generation referred to as "Parakeets." Buffett began his recording career in Nashville, TN, where he recorded country-rock music in the 1960s. He released his first record in 1970 and later moved to Key West to embrace a beach bum lifestyle. His film credits include roles in "Repo Man" and "Congo."
