James Vivian Alfred Doyle, known as Jimmy Doyle, was an Australian musician, radio presenter, and songwriter born on October 14, 1945. He was a prominent figure in the music scene, serving as the founding mainstay guitarist for the jazz fusion and progressive rock band from August 1973 until 1981. Throughout his career, Doyle played with several bands, including the Soulmates in 1967, and was part of various groups from 1968 to 1988, including his time with (1968–1969), (1970), (September to October 1970), and (1988) with the Aussie Blue Flames. He passed away on May 5, 2006, from liver cancer.
