Jimmy Hyacinthe was a talented singer, guitarist, and arranger from Ivory Coast, born in Treichville, Abidjan. He passed away on March 19, 1991. Known for modernizing "Goly," a traditional Ivorian rhythm, he was named after the legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix and developed a unique string pinching technique for playing guitar. Hyacinthe began his musical journey with the Bouaké orchestra Aboliba Jazz and achieved a professional status with the Comoé Sisters, becoming the youngest professional guitarist in his country. He toured Africa with M'bam Jazz Orchestra before joining Anouma Brou Felix's band. Later, he formed Bozambo in Europe and eventually returned to Ivory Coast, where he served as the artistic director of "La Société Ivoirienne de l’Industrie du Son."
