Jimmy Knepper was an American jazz trombonist, born on November 22, 1927, in Los Angeles, California. He began his career as a featured soloist in various bands during his teenage years. Throughout his career, Knepper played with several prominent big bands, including those led by Charlie Barnet, Woody Herman, Claude Thornhill, and the Thad Jones-Mel Lewis Jazz Orchestra. He passed away on June 14, 2003, in Triadelphia, West Virginia.
