Jimmy Lewis was an American jazz bassist, born on April 11, 1918, in Nashville, Tennessee. He played both upright and electric bass and had a diverse range of recording credits throughout his career. Lewis was also a songwriter, often publishing under titles such as "A Case Of Blues," "Black on Black," and "The Doll House." He passed away in 2000 in New York City, New York.
