Jimmy Radcliffe was an American soul singer, songwriter, producer, guitarist, and multi-organist, born on November 18, 1936, in Harlem, New York. He made history in 1965 by becoming the first African-American performing artist to write, produce, and sing commercial jingles for the advertising industry. In the late 1960s, he was also a writing partner to various artists. Tragically, he passed away on July 27, 1973, in the Bronx, New York, due to complications from kidney removal surgery.
