Jimmy Rushing was an American blues and swing jazz singer, born on August 26, 1899, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He gained prominence as the featured vocalist of a prominent band from 1935 to 1948. Rushing passed away on June 8, 1972, in New York City, New York.
