JJ is a producer and DJ who began his career in 1982. After studying music in school, he set up a small MIDI studio in 1986. In the early dance music scene of Stockholm, he caught the attention of SweMix, leading to a collaboration with them in 1987 as a production team. In 1988, they established Stockholm's first house night called 'Batclub'.
