Joanie Sommers is an American pop singer and actress, best known for her 1962 hit single "Johnny Get Angry." Born on February 24, 1941, in Buffalo, NY, she was signed to a Warner Bros. contract at the age of 18 in 1959. Sommers was paired with actor Edd Byrnes on one of his singles and made a small appearance in the television series "77 Sunset Strip," where Byrnes played the character Kookie. Additionally, she contributed her vocals to Byrnes' tracks "I Don't Dig You" and "Hot Rock," featured on one of his albums.
