Jocelyn Brown is an American vocalist, lyricist, and artist, born on November 25, 1950, in Kinston, North Carolina, USA. Known for her versatility, she has made significant contributions to R&B, Disco, Pop, and House music. Inspired by her aunt, Jocelyn began her career in the 1970s as a studio singer, collaborating with various groups and artists. In 1984, she launched her solo career, achieving notable success with her single "Somebody Else's Guy," which reached #2 on the Billboard R&B Singles chart and #75 on the Hot 100. Between 1985 and 1987, she worked with and toured alongside prominent artists. By 1990, her work began to be sampled by House and Rap producers, including those who sampled her vocals from "Love's Gonna Get You." Throughout her career, Jocelyn's contributions to dance music have been recognized, as she has collaborated with numerous artists in the genre. She is also the niece of another singer.
