Joe Delia is a pianist, producer, composer, and arranger born in New York, New York. He began his career in the late 1960s playing piano and singing with The Bruthers, a group that mainly served as a backing band on concert tours. In the 1970s, he was active as a jingle composer, session keyboardist, and arranger, while also starting to compose movie scores. In the early 1980s, he played with a Danish artist in a group, where he composed songs that became popular hits in Denmark and Scandinavia. Delia has worked extensively with director Abel Ferrara, providing music for films such as Ms. 45, Driller Killer, Bad Lieutenant, The Addiction, and others. He composed the music for Ferrara's The Blackout, which led to a collaboration with another Ferrara favorite that resulted in the release of a single titled "The Player." Since the 1980s, Delia has frequently collaborated with another artist known as well.
