Joe Houston was an American jazz, blues, and R&B saxophonist, known for his work on the tenor saxophone. Born on July 12, 1926, near Austin, Texas, he had a prolific career that spanned from the 1950s to the 2000s. Throughout his career, he collaborated with notable artists such as Amos Milburn, King Kolax, Betty Roche, Wynonie Harris, and Big Joe Turner. Houston also pursued a solo career, recording several albums until his passing on December 28, 2015, in Long Beach, California.
