Joe Morris was an American jazz and rhythm & blues trumpet player, born on March 2, 1922, and he passed away on November 7, 1958. He began his career in jazz but is best known as the leader of the R&B-oriented Joe Morris Orchestra, which served as the unofficial house band for Atlantic Records in the early to mid-1950s. Several future Atlantic stars emerged from this orchestra. Morris wrote the hit song "Anytime, Any Place, Anywhere" for Atlantic, which helped establish the record company by reaching number one on the R&B charts.
