Joe Pesci is an Italian-American actor, born on February 9, 1943, in Newark, New Jersey. He began his career in show business as a musician, performing with various bands and releasing a record as a singer under the name "Little Joe" in 1968. In 1969, he joined a lounge band and the Artistocats, which disbanded shortly after. Pesci then transitioned to stand-up comedy, performing with a partner before both eventually turned to acting. He is best known for his roles in "My Cousin Vinny," "Casino," "JFK," the "Home Alone" movies as a bumbling burglar, the "Lethal Weapon" movies as the motor-mouth con-man Leo Getz, and for his Academy Award-winning performance in "Goodfellas."
