John Grzinich, born in 1970 in New York State, is an American-Estonian artist renowned for his innovative work in sound composition, performance, and installation art since the early 1990s. His practice intricately weaves field recordings, site-specific interventions, and collaborative social structures to explore the interplay between sound and environment. Grzinich's compositions have been published on numerous international labels, and he has performed and exhibited across North and South America, Europe, and Japan. Currently residing in Estonia, he serves as a visiting Associate Professor of New Media at the Estonian Academy of Arts and a visiting professor of Sound Design at RISEBA University in Riga.
