John Barry was an English composer and conductor of film music, born on November 3, 1933, in York, Yorkshire, United Kingdom. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1998. Barry is best known for his long association with the James Bond franchise, composing the scores for 11 films between 1963 and 1987, although he is often associated with the James Bond Theme, which he did not write but arranged. Throughout his career, he composed numerous themes and scores for various films and TV shows. Barry was married four times, and he was the first husband of his second wife, whom he married in 1965 and divorced in 1968. He passed away on January 30, 2011, in Oyster Bay, New York, USA.
