John Fred And His Playboy Band was a US bubblegum and psychedelic band formed in 1956 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The band featured John Fred on vocals, supported by Andrew Bernard on baritone saxophone, Ronnie Goodson and Charlie Spinosa on trumpets, and a variety of guitarists including Jimmy O'Rourke, Hal Ellis, Buddy Chehardy, and Jeff Johnson. The rhythm section consisted of Harold Cowart and Andy Tarrant on bass, along with Lester Dodge and Don Kendrick on drums, and Tommy Degeneres on organ.
