John Hawkins is a UK-then-New Zealand based record producer and engineer who worked from 1963 to 1967. He returned to the UK in the late 1960s before relocating to Australia. In the 1970s, he briefly worked again in New Zealand. Prior to signing with his notable projects, Hawkins worked for a company in England. He is often identified on records by the label J/H Prod, which appears in a square box. It is important not to confuse him with British composer, conductor, and arranger John E. Hawkins.
