John Hughey was an American steel guitarist born on December 27, 1933, in Elaine, Arkansas. He was inducted into the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame in 1996. In 1961, he married Jean, and they welcomed their only daughter, Cheryl Ann, in 1967. In 1968, he became the pedal steel player for Conway Twitty's band. John Hughey passed away on November 18, 2007.
