John Roberts was a US singer, trumpeter, songwriter, arranger, conductor, and orchestrator, born in Houston in 1941. He was discovered in 1965 by Bob Garner, a talent scout for Don Robey, which led to a contract with Duke Records. Roberts is best known for his recording "Sockin' 1-2-3-4." He later served as the Head of the Music Department at Centennial High School in Compton, California. It is believed that John Roberts passed away on September 26, 2023.
