Johnnie Lee Wills was an American western swing musician known for his skills on the guitar, banjo, and fiddle. He was born on September 2, 1912, in Jewett, Texas, and passed away on October 25, 1984, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was the younger brother of one musician and the older brother of another. In 1934, he joined a musical group as a banjo player and later founded his own group, the Rhythmairs, in 1939. In 1940, after his group was split into two factions, he remained in charge of the Oklahoma faction, which was renamed, with Johnnie Lee switching to fiddle. After this group disbanded in 1964, he was only intermittently active in music.
