Johnny Harris was a British composer, arranger, producer, and musical director, born in Edinburgh on November 9, 1932. He passed away in Palm Springs, California, on March 20, 2020. In 1965, he was hired by Tony Hatch as his conductor and co-arranger at Pye Records, where he worked extensively with notable artists such as Petula Clark, Tom Jones, Engelbert Humperdinck, Shirley Bassey, and Lulu, conducting her winning Eurovision entry in 1969. In 1972, he was head-hunted by Paul Anka in the United States to lead his orchestra, a position he held until 1977. Following this, he collaborated with Lynda Carter from 1978 until his death. Additionally, Harris wrote many scores for advertising, the TV and film industry, and conducted for the Palm Springs Follies until they closed. Please note that care should be taken when assigning credits to this artist, as there are other artists with the same name.
