Johnny Horton was an American country singer and songwriter, known as a pioneer of rockabilly music. He was born on April 30, 1925, in Los Angeles, California, and became a member of the American TV program, The Hayride. Horton tragically passed away on November 5, 1960, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Milano, Texas, following a performance at Austin's Skyline Club, which was also the site of his final show.
