Johnny Moore was a rhythm and blues guitarist and vocalist born on October 20, 1906, in Austin, Texas. He passed away on January 6, 1969, in Los Angeles, California. Moore is best known as the founder of a vocal and instrumental group and was the brother of a musician who played in the Three Blazers from 1947 to the mid-1950s. He is credited with composing well-known songs such as "Merry Christmas Baby" and "Drifting Blues," although there has been some dispute regarding the authorship of these songs, with Charles Brown claiming to be the composer.
