Johnny Osbourne, born Errol Osbourne in 1948 in Jones Town, Kingston, Jamaica, is a renowned reggae and dancehall singer who gained prominence in the late 1970s and mid-1980s. He is a former student of a notable institution in Kingston, where he learned to play the trumpet and chant. Osbourne began his music career singing with various groups and made his first recordings, quickly transitioning to a solo career. His debut album was released in 1970, followed by a second in 1973. In 1977, he moved to Canada, where he recorded several tracks before returning to Jamaica the following year. There, he recorded numerous hits for Studio One and released his third album in 1979, which is considered one of the best of that era. Throughout his career, Osbourne has released a series of albums and continued to produce recordings well into the 2000s, successfully navigating the dancehall period.
