Johnson, Hawkins, Tatum & Durr is a musical group that formed after a successful audition with Capsoul’s Bill Moss. The group originally consisted of Virgil Johnson, Al Dawson, Willie Tatum, and Norris Durr, and they recorded their first track for the label in 1971. Moss changed the group’s name to reflect their last names, but mistakenly omitted Al Dawson's name when finalizing the label name on the 45 records.
