Jools Holland, OBE, is a renowned pianist and television personality from the UK, best known for his long-running BBC2 series 'Later... With Jools Holland' and his role as the pianist for the pop punk group Squeeze, as well as the frontman of his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra. Holland began his career as a session musician and was a founding member of Squeeze, performing on their first three albums until 1980, when he shifted his focus to a solo career. He debuted in 1978 with an EP and subsequently released several singles and a solo album, exploring various styles including rockabilly, blues, and jazz. From 1982 to 1987, Holland co-presented a music television program alongside Paula Yates and occasionally guest-hosted on MTV. He rejoined Squeeze in 1985, playing piano for the band until 1990, when he decided to concentrate on his solo career and television hosting. In 1987, Holland formed the Jools Holland Big Band, which was later renamed Jools Holland And His Rhythm & Blues Orchestra. Between 1990 and 1994, he released several solo albums, including 'World Of His Own', 'Solo Piano', and 'The Full Compliment', while much of the decade was dedicated to his work with the Rhythm & Blues Orchestra.
