José Mangual Jr. is a talented percussionist, vocalist, arranger, songwriter, and band leader, born in January 1948 in Spanish Harlem, New York City, USA. He is the son of an innovative and pioneering bongo player and the brother of another percussionist. Growing up in East Harlem, known as "El Barrio," José Jr. began playing in local groups by the age of fifteen. He showcased his abilities as a composer, author, and lead vocalist with various orchestras. His skills as a percussionist and musical director have been sought after by numerous artists. Mangual's discography includes notable releases such as "Pa Bailar y Gozar," "Que lo Diga el Tiempo," "Sonero Con Clase," "No Se Tu," among others.
