Josef Suk was a Czech violinist born on August 8, 1929, in Prague, which was then part of Czechoslovakia. He passed away on July 6, 2011, in Prague. Suk was the grandson of a composer and the great-grandson of another composer. In 1974, he founded an ensemble, which he led until 2000.
