Joseph Haydn was an Austrian composer of the Classical period, born on March 31 or April 1, 1732, in Rohrau. He passed away on September 5, 1809, in Vienna, Austria. Haydn significantly improved the "sonata form" and is regarded as the "father" of symphonies and string quartets, which have served as inspirational style models. He made fundamental contributions to the development of chamber music through his numerous quartets, trios for piano, strings, and the unusual trios for baryton, viola, and cello.
