Josephine Baker was an American-born French dancer, singer, and actress, born on June 3, 1906, in Saint Louis, Missouri, USA. She passed away on April 12, 1975, in Paris, France. While her body is buried at Monaco's Cimetière de Monaco, a cenotaph was erected in her honor at the Panthéon in Paris on November 30, 2021, for her services rendered to the nation. Baker was actively involved in the French Resistance during World War II and fought against racial segregation in the USA, advocating for civil rights alongside Martin Luther King.
