Juan José Lázaro, a New York-born pianist of Peruvian and Russian descent, began his musical journey at the age of four under the guidance of Bulgarian teacher Boriana Savova. By six, he was already performing publicly. His formative years included extensive studies with Irina Edelman at the Mannes College Preparatory Division, leading to a Bachelor of Music from The Juilliard School under Jerome Lowenthal and a Master's in Collaborative Piano from the Manhattan School of Music with Thomas Muraco. Lázaro has graced esteemed venues such as Steinway Hall, Weill Recital Hall, and the Metropolitan Opera's Liszt Hall. In 2022, he joined the Lindemann Young Artist Program at the Metropolitan Opera, contributing as assistant conductor and diction coach for Oswaldo Golijov's "Ainadamar."
