During this time, the band experienced multiple drummer changes until 1980 when a consistent drummer joined until 1988. In 1990, the band faced a legal challenge related to allegations of subliminal messages in their album "Stained Class," which was ultimately dismissed. Halford left Judas Priest in 1993 to pursue a solo career, and Tim "Ripper" Owens, a tribute band singer, took over, recording four albums with the band. In 2003, Halford returned, restoring the 1990 lineup. K.K. Downing departed in 2009, replaced by Richie Faulkner. This lineup produced two more studio albums before Glenn Tipton had to retire due
