Julia & Company was a mid-80s band from Washington, USA, led by Julia McGirt. The lineup, which formed on September 22, 1981, included Julia McGirt on vocals, along with a pianist, a bassist, and Steve Williams on drums. The group performed at various nightclubs in the Washington area, including Blues Alley in Georgetown and Mr. Henry’s on Capitol Hill. In 2009, McGirt, who was then known as Julia Nixon, won the Urban Contemporary Vocalist Award at the Wammies, and Julia & Company received the Urban Contemporary Duo/Group Award.
