Julien Dyne is a Montreal-born drummer, producer, DJ, and visual artist. He is best known for his solo work on BBE Records and Wonderful Noise, and he has collaborated with notable artists such as Ladi 6, Opensouls, Fat Freddy's Drop, Sola Rosa, Eru Dangerspiel, Christoph El Truento, James Duncan, and She’s So Rad. Julien attended the Red Bull Music Academy in Rome in 2004, where he received private drum tuition from session master Bernard Purdie and learned production techniques from various renowned guest lecturers. In 2007, he was invited to participate in the 'A Class Of Its Own' recording sessions in Cologne, Germany, working with the Mizell Brothers, Theo Parrish, Steve Spacek, Mark Pritchard, Om’mas Keith, and Andreya Triana. His debut solo album, 'Pins and Digits,' received significant acclaim, including airplay from BBC DJs Gilles Peterson and Benji B, and appeared on DJ top 100 lists in 2009. His second full-length album, 'Glimpse,' is currently available on BBE Records and Wonderful Noise. Julien has toured extensively across New Zealand, Australia, Europe, and the UK, recently completing a solo tour of Japan. In addition to his music career, he is a visual artist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Auckland, and his work has been exhibited throughout New Zealand
