Julito Rodriguez, also known as Julio Rodríguez or Julio Rodríguez Reyes, was a Puerto Rican bolero singer, guitarist, and composer born on October 5, 1925. He passed away on July 27, 2013. As a composer, he is renowned for writing the classic bolero "Mar y cielo" (Sea and Sky), which features the memorable lines: "...el mar y el cielo, se ven igual de azules, y en la distancia, parece que se unen..." In 1952, he joined a world-famous trio, which significantly expanded his fame beyond Puerto Rico and Latin America. The group toured extensively, reaching countries such as Spain, Portugal, Italy, and even Israel and Lebanon in the Middle East. Julito Rodriguez became an idol in Mexico, where he recorded 122 songs as a member of the trio.
