Junie Morrison was an American producer, arranger, writer, multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist, born on January 28, 1954, in Dayton, Ohio. He passed away on January 21, 2017, in London, UK. In 1970, Morrison joined the funk band the Ohio Players, where he served as a producer, writer, keyboardist, and vocalist. He left the band in 1974 to release three solo albums on Westbound Records, performing all the instruments under the name Junie. In 1977, he became the musical director for George Clinton's P-Funk (Parliament-Funkadelic), contributing significantly to their sound during their peak popularity from 1978 to 1980. Morrison also produced some P-Funk material under the pseudonym J.S. Theracon to navigate contractual issues. He has been a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame since 1997.
